Commissions

Lanterns

A commission to design and produce a pair of lanterns for a Japanese style garden in East Sussex.  The original was mocked up in plywood as a two sided lantern, for approval by the client.  A fibreglass mould was then made from this of which the two sides were cast twice and bonded together.  The final cast was made in Jesmonite silver grey granite which was acid etched and sealed.

Railings

I was asked by a Sussex construction company to create a resin casting from balcony railings on Hove seafront. This casting would be used to replicate railings found elsewhere on the building for installation on the top floor balcony. Firstly I made a silicone and fibreglass mould of two panels and an end post. I then cast the panels and post in resin slate at my studio, adding the ornate mouldings to the reverse side of the panels to make them two sided. These were then sent to the foundry in London for a sand mould to be made. The panels and post were then cast in cast iron ready for installation on the seafront balcony of the newly renovated flat.
